5 Day Primate Safari Bwindi Gorillas and Kibale Chimpanzee Trek in Uganda

This 5 Day Primate Safari for Bwindi Gorillas and Kibale Chimpanzee Trek in Uganda combines the Gorilla trek safari in Bwindi forests and the Kibale chimpanzee trek in the Kibale forests of Uganda available throughout the year.

Day 1: Depart for Kibale forests ark

At around 7:30 am, we depart Kampala or Entebbe and head westwards of Uganda to Kibale forests park, a drive of about 6-7 hours. You will probably have a lunch break in fort portal town and proceed and check into the lodge for rest and overnight.

Accommodation: Isunga Lodge, primate lodge, Kibale forest camp.

5 Day Primate Safari for Bwindi Gorillas and Kibale Chimpanzee Trek in UgandaDay 2: It is the Chimpanzee Tracking Day.

Have early breakfast and then leave for Kibale park at 7 am. It’s the chimpanzee tracking day, we will need to be at the Kanyanchu visitor center no later than 8:00 am for the pre-track briefing as more of your guide will arrange all the schedules.

Then return to the lodge for lunch and at 2 pm, take on a guided Nature walk hike in Bigodi wetlands sanctuary, a uniquely fascinating place with an expert guide to spotting more of the amazing vegetation, trees, flowers, and green plants that are so colorful and a perfect place for Birders.

Day 3: Travel day to Bwindi Gorilla Forests

After a big breakfast, we set off for Bwindi impenetrable forest as we drive through the Ishasha plains for the tree-climbing lions. Here we have a game drive in the best place in Africa to see the tree-climbing lions. Have lunch along your way and later on check-in to Bwindi park to your lodge.

The Big day awaits in the Bwindi forests, for the Gorilla Tracking. You will have to get enough breakfast as you check into the wildlife center for the pre-briefing before 8 am. The Gorilla trek can be for 5 plus hours depending on which group you are tracking, as you know gorillas move daily and before you even go on the trek, they are moving.

After tracking, you have choices of either a Nature walk or proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for exploration and relaxation with more optional activities.

Day 5: Travel day to Kampala or Entebbe

Here have breakfast and return to Kampala including the breakpoints of lunch and the stop to visit the Equator.
