15 Day Safari The Best of Uganda
This 15 Day Safari The Best of Uganda is another private circuit with lodge accommodation designed for those who want to discover Uganda. It includes wildlife, birds, mountain gorillas, and chimpanzees.
Day 1 – Entebbe – Kampala
Arrive at Entebbe airport in Uganda and welcomed by our representative. Transfer to the hotel ( Cassia Lodge – Metropole Hotel). BB
Day 2 – Source of the Nile
Breakfast then departure to the east to Jinja, the city where the source of the Nile is located, discovered in 1864.
Optional activities: Rafting along the Nile, Quad ride, Boat trips on the Nile, Cycling and horse riding
Lunch. Continue to Elgon Mountain and Sipi Falls.
Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge – Mount Elgon Hotel. Full board
Day 3 – Sipi Falls
Breakfast then hike to Sipi Falls (four falls along the Sipi River).
Lunch. Continue to Lira (Acholi region), in the direction of Kidepo National Park. Stop at the archaeological site of the Nyeru cave paintings near Kumi.
Dinner and overnight at Lilian Tower Hotel – Brownstone Country Guest House. Full board
Day 4 – Kidepo Valley National Park
Breakfast then continuation to the Kidepon Valley National Park, one of the most preserved wild places in Africa. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp (C) or at UWA Bandas (E).
Contact and immersion in nature are guaranteed. Full board.
Day 5 – Kidepo Valley National Park
Breakfast then a photo safari in the park and exploration of the Narus river valley region. Kidepo National Park is home to more than 80 species of mammals and 465 species of birds.
A visit to a local family of “Manyatta” Karamajongs can be arranged upon request.
Dinner and overnight at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp (C) or at UWA Bandas (E). Full board.
Day 6 – Kidepo – Gulu
Breakfast then last safari in Kidepo national park. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda.
Lunch en route and arrival in Kitgum in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at Boma Hotel. Full board
Day 7 – Gulu – Murchison National Park
Breakfast then visit the Murchison Falls national park. Lunch at the lodge. Photo-safari in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge / Paraa Safari Lodge (C) or Pakuba Lodge – Bwana Tembo Lodge (E). Full board.
Day 8 – Murchison National Park
Breakfast then photographic safari very early in the morning and discovery of the savannah. The park is home to numerous species of African fauna including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, water antelopes, Oribi antelopes, warthogs, and spotted hyenas.
Back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, a boat trip along the Nile to Murchison Falls. High concentration of wildlife on the bank of the Nile (hippos, crocodiles, many bird species, etc.). The excursion will end with a walk to the top of the falls where the Nile creates a canyon 7 meters wide and falls over 43 meters.
Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge / Paraa Safari Lodge (C) or Pakuba Lodge – Bwana Tembo Lodge (E). Full board.
Day 9 – Albertine Rift Valley and Fort Portal
Breakfast then you will leave the national park in a southwesterly direction along with Lake Albert and the escarpment of the Albertine valley, breathtaking landscapes. Crossing of Hoima, capital of the kingdom of Bunyoro, one of the oldest kingdoms of Uganda then the tropical forest of Bugoma.
Lunch stop en route. Continue to Fort Portal, capital of the kingdom of Tooro, near the mountains of Rwenzori, the main mountain range in Africa.
Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge / Crater Safari Lodge (C) or Chimpanzee Forest Guest House / Kibale Guest Cottages (E). Full board.
Day 10 – Kibale and Queen Elizabeth National Parks
Breakfast was followed by an excursion to Kibale National Park to discover the equatorial forest and observation of birds and chimpanzees in their natural environment. You will also see monkeys such as white and black colobus monkeys as well as red-tailed monkeys.
Lunch then continuation to the “pearl” of Uganda’s national parks: Queen Elizabeth National Park located between Lake George to the east, Lake Edward to the west, and the mountains of Rwenzori to the north.
Safari at dusk.
Dinner and overnight at Kyambura Game Lodge / Mweya Safari Lodge (C) or Ihamba Safari Lodge / Enganzi Lodge (E). Full board
Day 11 – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Breakfast then departure for a photo safari in the park, north towards Lake George and the village of Kasenyi. The wildlife that can be encountered includes lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, water antelopes as well as Ugandan kob and leopards.
Lunch then a boat trip along the Mweya peninsula in the Kazinga canal (high concentration of wildlife and therefore the opportunity to take excellent photos: lots of hippos, buffaloes, and elephants). In the evening, transfer and safari to the Ishasha region.
Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge. Full board
Day 12 – Ishasha – The Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi
Breakfast was then discovered in the south of the Queen Elizabeth National Park in Ishasha. You will observe lions, buffalo herds, elephants, antelopes, and topi antelopes.
Lunch then departure towards the equatorial forests which are the natural habitat of mountain gorillas. Arrival at Bwindi National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Engagi Lodge – Bwindi Jungle Lodge – Bakiga Lodge (C) or Gorilla Valley Lodge / Cuckooland Lodge (E). Full board
Note: Today the trip will be variable, depending on the location of the gorilla permits and road conditions.
Day 13 – Meet the mountain gorillas
In the morning and under the guidance of rangers you will enter the equatorial forest of Bwindi in search of gorillas.
The Bwindi forest is home to a population of around 400 gorillas (half the world’s population according to 2012 figures). You will have one hour to observe the gorillas and their behavior, by taking photos.

Day 14 – Batwa Pygmies – Lake Mburo National Park
Breakfast then an optional excursion in the Echuya forest to meet the Batwa Pygmies and discover their traditions, history, and culture. The region is very beautiful, with an exceptional view of the forest, the mountains, and Lake Bunyonyi.
Lunch then continues to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of the Ugandan national parks.
Photo safari to discover impala antelope, elk, topis, and many buffaloes and zebras.
Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge / Mburo Mantana Camp – (C) or Mburo Safari Lodge / Arcadia Cottages Mburo (E). Full board.
Day 15 – Lac Mburo – Entebbe
After the last safari in the Parc du Lac Mburo (or an optional guided hike in the park), the trip ends and you will return to Entebbe. Lunch on the way. Transfer to Entebbe international airport. Half pension
